Day 2 A full day of natural beauty and perhaps the most distinctive features of the Top End landscape are the termite mounds. The species with the most interest is the Magnetic Group. Learn about these constructions and travel deep into Litchfield National Park. We spend the morning swimming and walking the area of Wangi Falls. Our next stop takes us to Florence Falls Loop Walk and Buley Rock Hole for a final cooling swim. Back at the motel there is time for a cool drink before dinner.

Day 3 Today we head out to Leliyn (Edith Falls) for an afternoon of relaxation and swimming in the main pool. Walk to the summit for a breathtaking view and a soak in the top rock pools. This is sure to be an afternoon in paradise. From here Katherine is only a short 45 minute drive away and we will stay for the next two nights.

Day 4 Today we explore Katherine and its history. The township is set on the Katherine River which flows through Nitmiluk National Park. We are destined for a Dreaming River Sunset Dinner Cruise through beautiful gorges this river has to offer late afternoon.

Day 5 We travel further south to a small town called Mataranka. The Mataranka Homestead Motel is our accommodation for tonight. Framed by two rivers and the serene Elsey National Park, the homestead is a great place to relax. Swim in the crystal clear thermal pool, sit back and enjoy. It is all about the perfect location here.

Day 6 After a morning swim in the thermal pools, it is time to leave the "Top End" and trail of the giant termite nests. We stop at Daly Waters Historic Pub for a look around and for some quirky photo opportunities before heading down to Tennant Creek. Motel, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 7 We continue our journey to the giant rock formations of Devil's Marbles. Stroll between the huge rounded boulders which are the result of millions of years of erosion and are a nature lovers' and photographers' delight. We pass through Barrow Creek and Aileron on our way to Alice Springs. We check into the Aurora Hotel for the next four nights and join back together for a restaurant dinner.

Day 8 Alice Springs is nestled in between the Western and Eastern MacDonnell Ranges and today we explore the Standley Chasm, Glen Helen Gorge and the Ochre Wall. After a great day out, we return to the Aurora in Alice Springs.

Day 9/10 Enjoy two free days to explore art galleries, the Desert Park, take a sunrise balloon ride, visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Road Transport Hall of Fame or just relax and soak up the history of the town.

Day 11 Today we drive to the most spectacular of indigenous sacred sites, Uluru - Ayers Rock. It is the world's largest monolith rising 348 metres above ground with a circumference of 9.2 kilometres. Discover the culture centre and witness a spectacular sunset with many changing colours of the rock and landscape.

Day 12 Start the day with a sunrise breakfast at Kata Tjuta and witness the desert coming to life. then we head off to explore the Kata Tjuta rocks, estimated to be over 500 million years old. The 36 weathered domes are another significant area for the indigenous - Anangu people. Enjoy the magnificent views walking the "Valley of the Winds" Track.
Spend the afternoon with souvenir shopping, a relaxing nap, a treatment at the Red Ochre Spa or take an optional 30 minute scenic helicopter flight over Uluru and Kata Tjuta. We join back for dinner at the Ilkari Restaurant or why not take the optional Sounds of Silence Dinner Experience at Uluru. Day 13 Uluru is one of Australia's most recognized natural landmarks and today is the time to take in the true magnitude of the rock, by a walk around the base. Continue with a drive to Kings Canyon the biggest attraction inside Watarrka National Park. The canyon has been forged over 400 million years and is made from layers of sandstone with hard shale between layers. We arrive at Kings Canyon Resort and there is time for a walk at your own leisure or perhaps a drink at the Outback Bar. Finish the evening with a delicious dinner.

Day 14 This morning we explore Kings Canyon, a scenic landscape of rugged ranges, ancient sandstone walls, rock holes and gorges. Take a walk into the base of the canyon and then break for lunch. A bird's eye view is the best way to see this amazing part of the Watarrka National Park. Enjoy a scenic helicopter flight over the Canyon rim and discover the "Lost City"and the "Garden of Eden". After our flight we head back to Kings Canyon Resort for a second night.

Day 15 A day to sit back and enjoy the passing scenery as we leave the Northern Territory and venture into South Australia along the Stuart Highway. The road is named after John McDouall Stuart. Shifting sand dunes, salt and clay pans made this construction a tough assignment. We arrive in Coober Pedy and spend two nights and one full day here to explore this bizarre and unique town.

Day 16 Discover Coober Pedy and start with our Opal Mine tour, a visit to an underground church and see how some of the locals live. Try your luck in noodling for opal after lunch, visit a local art gallery and enjoy the views at the stunning Breakaways.

Day 17 Today we leave the opal township of Coober Pedy and make our way to Port Augusta. We stop at Woomera, the town which is known as the Woomera Rocket Range. Learn about famous Len Beadell who surveyed the site and stroll amongst the rockets and planes left behind by the British. Continue onto Port Augusta and enjoy the views at the Matthew Flinders Ranges Lookout during late afternoon light. We check into our accommodation in for tonight and dine out at Ian’s Western Hotel.

Day 18 On our last day we walk one of the many trails in the Arid Lands Botanical Gardens. Beautiful plants and birdlife as well as a great souvenir shop for last minute gifts. We drive to Port Germein with time to stroll along the once longest wooden jetty of the Southern Hemisphere. We take on the final stretch to Adelaide, but not without a stop at the pink salt lake which is a fabulous opportunity for a final group photograph. We arrive in Adelaide around 4pm.
